Discover a wealth of knowledge in the field of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) through our diverse course offerings at the National ATMP Research School. With six specialized courses, including topics ranging from molecular aspects to legal considerations, our program equips you with the skills and insights needed to excel in this dynamic field.
The National ATMP Research School will offer six courses related to Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products, with five courses granting 1.5 credits and one course providing 3 credits. All courses will be conducted in English.
Courses
Introductory course to ATMPs (1,5 hp)
Online course offered by Umeå University (online)
The course will provide an introductory overview of advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) from bench to bedside. The students will start by gaining a basic understanding of the cellular and molecular science that underpins ATMPs. An overview of the regulatory framework and different ATMP classifications will be given together with examples of products in each category.
Molecular aspects of cell, tissue and gene therapies (1,5 hp)
Offered at Lund University
The course will teach about the current state of the field and what challenges must be addressed for it to reach its full potential. Additionally, attendees will learn how to incorporate the latest advances in regenerative medicine and ATMPs from recent years into their own research.
All steps from research to GMP (3 hp)
Offered at Karolinska Institutet
Students will learn the fundamentals of establishing the production of a cell or gene therapy product and how to transfer it to production while adhering to good manufacturing practice (GMP) standards. They will also gain knowledge on creating standard operating procedures (SOPs) to produce cell and gene therapy products and verifying product purity and function.
Medical law and legal aspects of ATMP (1,5hp)
Offered at Lund University
Over the duration of the course, students will gain basic knowledge and understanding of the national, EU and international regulation of ATMPs.
Designing, approval and conducting of ATMP clinical trials (1,5 hp)
Offered at Uppsala University
This course will provide students with an understanding of the special conditions for conducting ATMP clinical trials, the regulatory framework for ATMP clinical trials in Sweden, the EU and internationally, and all the steps from laboratory discovery to early clinical trials.
Patient access and health economics of ATMPs (1,5 hp)
Offered at University of Gothenburg
This course addresses health economics and gives students a basic understanding of health economic considerations of ATMPs. The focus is on methods for economic evaluation and health technology assessment (HTA) and patient access requirements in Sweden.
